ADOPTION 

If you are interested in adopting rats from us, please answer all the Pre-Adoption Questions by following the link below: 

By completing this form, you will go on to our waiting list for upcoming litters. Please note that we sometimes have (or rescue) older rats that need loving homes. If you are interested in adopting unwanted rats or rats in need, please message us or email Bohemianrattery@gmail.com for more info.

Once a new litter is born we will be in touch with those on the waiting list to see who is still interested in adopting. We cannot guarantee that there will be enough babies for everyone on the waiting list and we have the right to decline an adopter if we don’t believe a home is suitable for our rats. Our rats our our babies first. We do vet our adopters to make sure they go to the best homes possible. 

To ensure the welfare of our rats, we expect every adopter to sign our Adopter's Agreement as well as photos of their cage set-ups 2 weeks before they go to their forever homes.

Please be aware that all our babies have to go in pairs of the same sex. Babies are ready to go to their forever homes once they are 8 -10 weeks old to ensure they are in excellent health.  

If you live outside of Wellington, we no longer send our rats on pet couriers as that is very stressful for them.
